What to know before sharing in an AI chat

By Attune · Updated

Knowing where a message goes makes it easier to decide what to share. This guide explains the product’s conversation boundaries; the Privacy Policy contains the full existing policy.

Private means a separate conversation context

Your account’s interactions are separate from other users’ interactions with the same character. A shared character identity does not mean that everyone shares the same chat history. Group messages have their own context, distinct from a one-to-one conversation.

This separation does not mean that only your device can read a message. Attune processes messages on its servers and sends relevant context to AI providers to generate replies. The service does not promise end-to-end encryption or zero retention by every model provider.

Share only what the conversation needs

You can start with an interest, an invented scenario, or a broad description of your day. Avoid passwords, payment credentials and other people’s private information. You do not need to provide a precise address or sensitive document to make a character conversation interesting.

Before writing in a group, consider whether you want that information used in the shared scene. If an AI reply gets a personal detail wrong, correct it; generated content should not be treated as a reliable record of your life.

Leaving, hiding and deleting are different

Signing out or clearing browser storage does not remove server records. Removing a contact, ending a relationship or hiding a conversation should not be assumed to delete its entire history. Read the explanation for the specific action before using it.

For questions about your data or a deletion request, use the contact details in the Privacy Policy: support@attune.dating. Retention can involve backups and legal requirements, so this guide does not promise immediate removal of every copy.
